You accept this Player Liability Waiver & Payment Policy Agreement ("Agreement") when you register for an event on the Ultivert platform operated by [ENTITY NAME] ("Ultivert", "we", "us"). This Agreement supplements the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms have the meaning given in the Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not register.
Ultivert is software only. It does not organize, run, supervise, or insure events. Each event is operated solely by its Organizer. This Agreement is between you, Ultivert, and—where stated—the Organizer of the event you register for.
1. Assumption of risk and athletic liability waiver
1.1 You understand that Ultimate Frisbee and related athletic activity involve physical exertion, physical contact, and an inherent risk of injury, illness, permanent disability, or death, and of property loss or damage. Risks include collisions, falls, contact with other participants or equipment, playing-surface and weather conditions, and travel to and from events.
1.2 You voluntarily and knowingly assume all such risks, whether known or unknown, arising from your participation in any event you register for through the platform.
1.3 You represent that you are physically fit and medically able to participate, that you have no condition that would make participation unsafe, and that you participate at your own discretion and risk. You are responsible for assessing your own fitness to play.
1.4 You agree to provide accurate emergency-contact information and to keep it current.
2. Release and waiver of claims
2.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release, waive, and discharge Ultivert and its officers, employees, and suppliers from any and all claims, demands, and liabilities for injury, illness, death, loss, or damage arising out of or relating to your participation in any event, except to the extent caused by Ultivert's own gross negligence or willful misconduct or where such a release is prohibited by law.
2.2 You acknowledge that responsibility for the conduct, safety, supervision, officiating, venue, and insurance of an event rests with the Organizer, not Ultivert, and that any claim relating to those matters must be pursued against the Organizer or other responsible party, to the extent permitted by law.
2.3 Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
3. Payment policy
3.1 Where an event charges a registration fee, that fee is paid directly to the Organizer, outside the Ultivert platform, using the payment method and instructions the Organizer provides (for example, a peer-to-peer bank or wallet transfer). You may be asked to upload proof of payment for the Organizer to review and approve.
3.2 Ultivert is non-custodial. Ultivert does not collect, hold, escrow, process, or have access to your funds, and does not store your payment-card or bank-account details. Ultivert stores only the information you submit as proof (such as a receipt image and reference details).
3.3 Ultivert is not a party to the payment between you and the Organizer and is not responsible for the Organizer's receipt, handling, or acknowledgment of your payment.
4. Refunds, cancellations, and disputes
4.1 All refunds, cancellations, and payment disputes are handled directly between you and the Organizer, in accordance with the Organizer's stated policy for the event.
4.2 Ultivert is not liable for any refund, cancellation, fee, or dispute, and does not act as an escrow agent or mediator. Direct refund and dispute requests to the Organizer.
5. Medical consent
In the event of injury or illness during participation, you consent to receive first aid and emergency medical treatment, and you authorize event personnel to arrange such treatment if you are unable to do so. You remain responsible for the cost of any medical treatment.
6. Media release
You acknowledge that photographs, video, audio, and results may be captured at events and may be published, including on public standings, leaderboards, and statistics pages. Where required by law, the Organizer is responsible for obtaining any additional consent for use of your image. You may contact the Organizer or [CONTACT EMAIL] to raise concerns about specific media.
7. Code of conduct — Spirit of the Game
You agree to play in accordance with the Spirit of the Game and the event's ruleset (for example, WFDF), to self-officiate honestly, to treat other participants and officials with respect, and to submit spirit scores fairly and in good faith.
8. Data accuracy
You agree that the profile and skill information you provide (including throwing, cutting, defense, fitness, experience, and spirit-level metrics) is accurate to the best of your knowledge. This information, together with your registration-form responses, may be used by Organizers to seed or tier you for an event.
9. Acknowledgement and electronic acceptance
By checking the acceptance box and submitting your registration, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement and the Terms of Service, that you are doing so voluntarily, and that your electronic acceptance is legally binding. If you are registering on behalf of a minor, you do so as their parent or legal guardian and accept this Agreement on their behalf.
